Pirate language of the 'Arr!' and 'me hearties' variety was popularized by Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. The character of Long John Silver used many sea going, sailor, pirate expressions and is responsible for the catch phrases 'Argh Jim Lad' and 'Shiver me timbers.' As RLS lived long after the day of the buccaneers, it is difficult to know if the phrases used by Silver were created by the author or were genuine nautical sayings. Our pirate insults are ideal for use in pirate themed online multiplayer games.
